The main event
a report

The flag is green, the wing jumps from the inside and it’s clear on one turn. Earl Pearson Jr. is insider working on Marlar for the second time, and Pearson takes that spot.

On Lap 4, Marlar found speed on the pad. He has a second turn run. Markar cuts inside and Wenger slips to take the third turn.

On lap 7, Pearson Jr., Overton and the winger ran a wide treble to take second. Pearson takes this place as Overton is all over the place.

John Garvin Jr. circles behind them, wary. The winger will go back to second place and they will have to skip it again.

Greene, Marlar leads Pearson Jr. by second turn. Overton runs on the outside of Pearson Jr in the third turn but can’t complete the pass.

On lap 8, a red flag as Chub Frank flips his second turn while running for seventh. He got out of the car and looked fine.

Green, Marlar lead while Overton and Pearson Jr. run side by side for second. Pearson wins the battle over the inside to finish second.

On lap 15, Marlar knocks the cushion as Pearson Jr runs straight against the inner berm. Marlar leads by 2 seconds.

7 To go, Marlar grabbed the tail of the field.

5 to go, Pearson and Overton ran side by side for second. Overton clears him through the outer lane.

4 to go, Marlar leads Overton by 1.5 seconds.

1 to go, Overton closes but time is out.

Mike Marlar wins in one night of the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway!
